FREDERICK, Md.--Seniors Alex Engler and Doug Brisbane notched first-half scores for the Hood College men's lacrosse team (3-9, 0-3 Commonwealth) but the Blazers came up on the short end of a 14-2 Commonwealth Conference decision to Elizabethtown College (7-2, 2-1 Commonwealth) Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.
Brisbane scored his sixth goal of the season midway through the first quarter to make it a 2-1 game while Engler started the scoring in the second quarter with his fourth tally of the spring.
The Blue Jays led 10-2 at halftime and added four scores in the fourth. Craig Hunsberger and Dillon O'Dell scored three times each for Etown.
The Blazers next travel to Lebanon Valley College Saturday for a 1 p.m. Commonwealth tilt.
