Field hockey comes up short against Alvernia

READING, Pa. - The Hood College field hockey team dropped its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest against the Golden Wolves of Alvernia with a final score of 6-0.

Inside the Box Score

  • Kenzie Blair made 15 saves in a 30-minute stint at goalkeeper. Nicole Bennett recorded five saves in the second half of play.
  • Savannah Branch had a defensive save.
  • Hood's best scoring opportunity came in the 42nd minute when a shot by Mackenzie Rogers was forced wide due to Alvernia's strong defense.

How it Happened

  • Alvernia's Felicia Getz scored in the 3rd minute to give the Golden Wolves an early lead.
  • Getz scored again in the second quarter. Her goal was soon followed by a goal from Regan Downey in the 22nd minute.
  • Madison Potthoff's goal from Kaitlyn Kenner added a cushion for Alvernia in the third quarter.
  • Victoria Strasser capped off the scoring with back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter.
