FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's lacrosse team (4-13) lost to the Susquehanna University Crusaders (9-7) by a count of 9-3 in the Blazers' season finale at Thomas Athletic Field.
Joey O'Hara scored twice for Hood, his 10th and 11th goals of the season, while Corey Roberts notched his 17th tally of the spring and 64th of his career on a man-up opportunity. Ricky Orndorff registered his team-high 14th assist of the season while Mike Higgs and Alex Engler also contributed assists.
Joseph McCulloh turned aside 17 Crusader attempts while Hector Montoya won eight face-offs at the "x". Patrick O'Leary and James Weger led the defense, combining for 21 ground balls and forcing 10 Susquehanna turnovers between them.
Hood notched single tallies in the second, third and fourth quarters. The Crusaders scored twice in the first period, five times in the third to break open a one-goal game at halftime (2-1 SU) and twice more in the fourth. Six different players found the back of the net for Susquehanna, led by Luke Delavan's hat trick.
Roberts ends his Hood career in second place all-time in goals (64) and third in total points (76). Orndorff finished with 21 career assists, fourth all-time, and Scott Thompson ranks seventh in career goals (32) and eighth in total points (41). In addition, Montoya leaves Hood as the program's all-time leader in face-off wins.
