Men's Lacrosse Rolls to Sixth Straight Win

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team defeated Bard 15-3 to stretch the Blazers' school record win streak to six games. 

Inside the Box

  • Will Clampitt was all over the field, finishing with three goals, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. It was the defender's first career hat trick. 
  • Zak Kooser continued to pile up assists, dishing out five more in the win. 
  • Grayson Zubradt scored three goals and scooped up six ground balls. 
  • Patrick Hurley and Patrick O'Brien tallied two goals apiece. 
  • James Bimstefer had six ground balls and caused three turnovers. 
  • John Hoffman stopped eight shots in goal over the first 53 minutes. Noah Waterlander turned away two in the last seven.

How it Happened

  • Sean Murphy scored less than a minute into the action to give Hood the lead. Kooser assisted on scores by Hurley and Clampitt to make it 3-0 with 6:52 left. 
  • Ian Shaw scored on an extra-man opportunity with 1:15 left in the quarter, but after that, the Blazers stepped up their defense. The Raptors did not score for another 32 minutes and 21 seconds. 
  • During that time, Hood scored 10 straight goals to put the game away. 


  • Emmet O'Connell found the back of the net twice for Bard, including the game's final goal as time expired. Sam Smith had five ground balls, while William Baffuto caused three turnovers. 
  • Lyle Healey made seven saves in 32 minutes, with Troy Ludtka stopping four in relief. 
  • Hood outshot the Raptors 47-22 and won the ground ball battle 43-27.
