FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Mt. Aloysius 3-0.

How it Happened

  • In the first set, a kill by Simms pulled Hood within 12-10 before a 5-0 run by the Mounties put the set out of reach. 
  • Ray had a kill in the second set that cut the Mt. Aloysius lead to 15-14 but the Mounties scored the next three points and Hood never pulled within three the rest of the set. 
  • Trailing 22-18 in the third set, the Blazers rallied coming out of a timeout. Schaefer and Simms had kills in a four-point surge as Hood tied the set at 22-22. The Mounties called a timeout and scored the final three points to take the match. 

Notes

  • Machala Gibbons had a match-high 16 kills for the Mounties and 14 digs. 
  • Emma Pevarnik dished out 31 assists.
