Women's Cross Country Closes 2017 with Mideast Regional

NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Hood College women's cross country team ran in the 2017 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional, the final race of the year for the Blazers. 

How it Happened

  • The Blazers were led by Jayla Harris on the 6,000-meter course. The sophomore ran a time of 25:43.5 for 184th place. 
  • Lauren Fancella just missed her personal best with a 25:58.8 and placed 193rd. 
  • Running her final collegiate race, Andrea Christmas turned in a 29:13.1, good for 296th. It was her best time of the season. 


  • Johns Hopkins had four of the top six finishers en route to the regional title. The Blue Jays' Ellie Clawson finished in 21:33.5 for the win. 
  • A total of 351 runners took part in the meet.
